Difference in speakers between standard stereo in premium sound/navigation

The question: what is the difference between the actual speaker drivers between the standard stereo and the navigation/premium sound?

The backstory: I have 2 E53’s in the driveway. One is the wife’s with the basic stereo. The other is a flip car with the navigation premium sound but the head unit is broken. Depending on complexity I might put the wife’s basic stereo in the flip car and do an android upgrade in hers. But are the speakers/drivers different?

Yeah not sure you can plug a base stereo head unit in a NAV-equipped car.

plug both cars into RealOEM.com using the last 7 digits of Vin to see what differences are..I think most speakers are the same..

you CAN put the same Android unit into either car, but the NAV unit requires an extra 9 foot cable be routed to the back near the battery.

you do need to check and see if either car has DSP-particulalry the NAV car. Run the VINs thru a BMW VIN decoder to see if either has DSP

Android units are cheaply-priced, I suggest you buy a cheap E53 Android unit for flip car and maybe buy a slightly better one for the wife's car. I have 2 E53's and have xtrons Android units in both..they have their flaws, but are okay. I actually like the unit with the knobs ( 7 or 9 in screen) over the one with no knobs - 10 inch

The biggest difference is if the Navigation car has DSP.

You would have a lot of rewiring to do as well. The harnesses are completely different. As for the actual drivers, I believe the base sound speakers are 4ohm while the DSP speakers are a mix of 3ohm and something else. I have a complete set of DSP speakers on a rack, could check resistance. But again, pretty sure a lot of wiring to fit the DSP amp and radio unit in the back would be needed.

Now, if the nav truck has premium sound. The radio module is still located in the trunk but I don't know what impedance those speakers are. I'm pretty even the premium sound amp has more channels of amplification than the base audio vehicles though. You might want to check below to see just how much work would be needed given the differences.
