Inner Tail Lights

Does everyone have faded inner tail light? The ones that are on the deck lid are super faded and are not matching the oem pre facelift outer tails that the PO replaced. What do most do for these? Replace them? Buff them? Aftermarket?

I have buffed mine several times but they still go dull/white after some months.

Have you tried buffing down the oxidized layer and then spraying a layer of clear coat over them? I did this with the front headlights and it helped make them look better and stay looking clear.

Sanding them and then 2K clear coat with plastic primer should do the trick. Similar material problem on E39 touring inner tail lights.

I found a full set of "clear" 4.8iS tails for a killer deal and snatched them up! They appear to be in pretty good shape. I really wanted to stick with the "white" prefacelift tails since the outers a brand new and to keep the "factory" appearence. We will see how these look when I mount them up...Name: Screenshot_20200506-211711_OfferUp.jpg

DEPO makes an identical replica for a decent price. Good quality.
