E53 problems with aircindition

Hi
I have an X5 E53 04 model that has problems with aircindition, the car repair shop today changed the compressor to another used compressor but still will not cool the air, the clutch connects and there is enough gas on the system, some have some good suggestions for to troubleshoot further? must aux electric fan work for ac to work?

If your compressor was bad it could have slugged the condenser with oil and so it must be removed and cleaned inside or put a replacement condenser on.

Do you have any *codes?

*deep level scanner not something surface level

Yep, you need a scanner. Your shop should have one if they are working on BMWs.

And yes, the compressor will not engage if the auxiliary fan (electric fan in front of the radiator) has thrown a fault.

You need to get a set of manifold gauges and connect to the high side and low side of the AC system. What type of readings do you get. If you have a variable compressor it may not be working properly even though the system has refrigerant in it and the clutch to the compressor is engaging.
