Rain must be my imagination
Anybody know where the fuse is for this function ? Does this have the possibility of being really unpleasant or can I change a fuse and drive blissfully off into a thunderstorm? Thanks guys Mike

Check fuse F41 (5A) behind the glovebox.

I think failing rain wipers are often due to a bad sensor or dirt on glass in front of sensor (inside of glass).
I fiddled with this for a bit in my E39 and then disabled rain sensor wipers in NCS Last edited by Effduration; 07-12-2020 at 07:37 AM. |

Thanks guys. How do you get access to that fuse panel? I just gave it a quick glance.

You need to scan for code to see if the car can "see" the sensor.
My wife's car lost contact with the sensor and would run speed two when on rain sensor mode. I was able to run the calibration function but that will reset to an intermittent mode which is better than fast! Google the method to calibrate the rain sensor.

Another 100% Protein answer from Andrew. And I thank him again for his help. He’s getting the same weather as I am so he knows this is a good year for this to function.
Now if only he wasn’t a Packer fan 🏟

When my windshield was replaced (after it shattered when I demonstrated it's impossible to break a car window with your fist), I had to recalibrate the sensor.
FYI; if it's 95F with the AC blasting you can break a car window with your fist "note to self"

Even when exposed - it has got to be one of the worst designed fuse panels I've ever seen on a car though
- perhaps it's because I'm long limbed, but accessing the fuses still means sitting on the floor outside the car with your head in the footwell to see what you are doing and counting, replacing fuses is (for me) a right pain ..
