Just had the timing cover and valve cover gaskets replaced and they inspected the chain guides while they had it apart. All looks good!

Assume you meant bvzine. I can’t get that to work either. It appears the connection to the central DB is broken for all of the free decoder services.

You should have still had them replaced. Members have done the same where the guides look fine then they fail a little while later.

They are all down. Bzine hasn't worked for a long while (for me anyway). Mdecoder had been my go to up until a month or so ago when they broke too. I was hoping they would come back online but looks like they may have switched to a pay model now?

It was always a free service so I can't complain too much, but damned if I didn't use that thing a TON when looking for a new BMW to work on.

Edit: NM, Mdecoder just worked for me when I stuck in my truck's last 7. Maybe they go by IP's and only allow a certain number of lookups per day/week/etc now? Bet using a VPN could get around that.
