Painted engine beauty cover. Much better
I painted the engine beauty cover with high temp paint and it looked a little gray in the engine bay so I went with just a flat black and it looks much better.

Just need to figure out how to put a smaller window washer fluid reservoir in their. Lord the factory is huge. 7.8 liters come on.

Yes it is huge, I once though about painting the sides black so it blends in more but haven't done it yet.

The cover is already a little ruff, so I just did a good degrease and a light sand with 1000 grit. Flat black is pretty forgiving when it comes to coverage and little flaws. I just taped off the logos and silver lines with masking tape. Carefully cut around the lines and letters, peeled off what I didnt need and painted away.
SpooksX5, VERY good idea about painting it black. No need to see how much is in their since it has a level indicator. That is next on my list. Shouldnt need to take it out. Really good clean, light sand and mask all around it. Will do this shortly and report back. |

Looks great. Any special prep you did before painting it?
