Power Loss In 3.0d 2004 facelift
Back in 2008 I had the same issue but it doesn't seem to the same now alas, fix back then was the one end of the piping (arrow in pic) had come off what i think is the wastegate as in picture...the same pipe now is a bit frayed on the outside being braided with cloth rubber but doesn't seem split or cut, when i pull it off the wastegate i do still hear a small hissing noise, same on the other side too as there are two separate pipes on that black ball which is the wastegate ? Should the item in photo allow full passage of air through it? I have no idea, all i know the turbo isn't kicking in now, has 96000 miles on the clock, if my turbo is dead would there have been any tell tale signs? any input much appreciated

To loop your multiple post about this (from multiple threads), sounds like your exhaust manifold has split and needs to be repalced.
