Alright mate,
I had the same problem with mine when I fitted it. I set mine up with a standard 4 pin relay powering the camera. Pins as follows 85 - Chassis Ground I just found the nearest bolt and used a simple half circle crimp connector. 86 - Reverse light Wire Tap, (used as a relay trigger) 30 - 12v Power. Now this one you need to find a fuse that is live when the ignition is on or a constant 12v (I used a multimeter to find one then used a piggy back fuse on to my trailer hitch fuse) 87 - power wire to your camera. The issue you are having is that the lights on these BMWs is supplied a steady 12v when the engine is off.... but then when it’s running it “pulses” the voltage to check that the bulbs haven’t blown (correct me if I’m wrong). But basicly you don’t get a steady 12v so the camera won’t turn on. Fit the relay and it should work sweet
