Hi there, I’m relatively new around here.. I apologize if external links are not appropriate.. I’ve been bothered by the spotty shadowline trim on my daily 4.8is for a while and spent an afternoon searching for solutions.. This is the most reassuring video I’ve found. I purchased the supplies months ago but haven’t found time to tackle the task.. Maybe next weekend... I’m willing try and see what happens.

Any proper polishing compound should work. They do need more work than normal car paint surface but eventually it comes out good. I simply used Autoglym Super resin polish. Then after buffing I coated them with ceramic coating (Nanolex Si3D).

I might try to take a tube of the spot filler bonds and lay out a real thin layer to fix the pitting, give it a real light sand and repair ![]() ![]() Sucky location for sure, but shouldn’t be too hard. Strange though, wonder why it did that and why there... Sent from my iPhone using Xoutpost.com |

Agree totally ![]() . I usually use JBWeld on “ tougher” stuff though where I don’t have to hand sand so much, like diamond plate running boards where they’ll take a beating and that stuff holds up - that stuff is tough!Sent from my iPhone using Xoutpost.com |

I'd have a go at removing the corrosion, then filling the pits that will be the result of removing the corrosion - if I could get the trim off without destroying it, which seems unlikely.
Not going even touch it in place. It's only a small area, not a big deal. I think it took a hit from a stone, that made a pin-hole in the coating, then water got under it. It was like this when I got the car (over 5 years ago). I've stopped it getting (much) worse by rubbing a sealing wax/polish over it and into the pin hole(s) occasionally.

Just thought I'd share a product I came across that I purchased and will see how it works...
