What also works well is JB- Weld. I have used it with great success. Not necessarily on the trim, but on metal that needed painted.The key is the prep!

Agree totally . I usually use JBWeld on “ tougher” stuff though where I don’t have to hand sand so much, like diamond plate running boards where they’ll take a beating and that stuff holds up - that stuff is tough!
