I know of some cars that you need to pull out the headlight to replace a bulb, difference being in those vehicles they make it EASY to remove

It's as if the Germans thought that making things easy to work on is a sign of laziness?

The stiffening plate definitely stiffens the chassis. My wife's doesn't have the plate on and it's very giggly wiggly. It reminds me of when I took the top down on my Z28.

Properly installed, the plate is held on with 70,000#. It makes a difference
