I agree with that and yes, the ratio is not X2 so it's unlikely but you may still have a local dealership throw their diag machine on it and verify. Unfortunately, unless you have a laptop running BMW Tools, I don't know of another way to check it and sadly, any dealer is probably going to want half an arm and a leg to hook up their scanner. Let the forum get moving today and I'm sure someone will hop in here, I do believe that it is possible to make the change from kph to mph and vice-versa from the cluster as I have flipped mine to German before and completely freaked out

Mmm I got NCS Expert with INPA, BMW Scanner 1.4, I have ThinkDiag available to use also and the rest are not worth mentioning. Local dealer means I'd have to go about 120km from my place for it, outside of town and the car is no good to be driven that far. Headlights for example... |

The Bentley shows (suggests) the speedometer gets it's signal from the left rear wheel but it goes through the ABS module first, so if the ABS is working properly you would think that all the sensor info up to the ABS module was good so something is happening to the signal coming out of the ABS module or to/at the speedo. It could also be that there is a sensor issue and the ABS module is less sensitive to it than the speedo so you can't totally rule that out either.

Concentrate on fixing the ABS!

Alright, I will straight order a new sensor and get it replaced today/tomorrow and going to report back. Waiting on a LCM module to be delivered also.

The front 2 sensors were showing (I made really short testing back and forth) 3.2km/h | 3.5km/h Rear ones: 6.8km/h | 7.5km/h Something along these values. Replaced all 4 and the speedometer came back to life Got pretty dark and late, so tomorrow I will put the ABS fuse back and try to see if its going to flash the DSC again as soon as I take off, but I believe the readings are fine now and it shouldn't make any issues. Anyway will keep the thread updated, since I could NOT find any information regarding this around the webs. (Maybe I wasn't searching for the right thing). Thanks a lot! ![]() Edit: I was also able to identify and narrow down the problem with permanently ON high beams, turns out that the console I replaced is also faulty and the handle for the headlights is being problematic itself. When I move it back and forth a little harder they start to work just fine, but on rare occasions when the car is completely off and key out it will start all possible lights if the handle remains in position where the high ones are off. (Sorry for the messy explanation) tl;dr : The console I've replaced is also bad, the problem is in the handle not the LCM module. Last edited by terribleperson; 10-05-2020 at 01:14 PM. |
