Just sold one of my cars at a very substantial premium. Took 4 weeks and substantial interactions with the buyer to confirm condition (ppi confirmed top notch, all maintenance up to date and major items done) but in the end very good deal and worth the effort. Don't give up and make sure to list details in the advert to show that its condition is real.

That's my problem, I haven't come across the right buyer yet as you did.
I do prefer buyer in person so he or she can see it's the real deal vs internet tire kickers who send me screen shoots of nada value or whatever.

I've had the guy who drove 9 hours to check it out.
We spent 3 hours and he loved the X5 (I'm not sure if he's here but he's welcome to confirm this) but then he offered $8500 on account of potential tranny trouble down the road even though it shifted fine and he said so.
I'll admit it pissed me off because it seemed when he couldn't find anything wrong with the X5 it seems he resorted to hypothetical problems.
Anyway, he drove 9 hours back and X5 is still here.

Reasonable vs. ambitious, its probably somewhere in between. The 133k miles, fair or unfair given the meticulous maintenance, makes it tough to approach the 5 figure mark. I recently spent a couple months in this market and mileage is one of the primary levers around price, as I know you know.

If you are dead set on selling: keep at it, I'd also be annoyed with your experience to-date, Cargurus is not the right marketplace to be spending time, and I think you could keep the listed price, expecting to come down between 10 and 20%. You will have to endure the stupid sh*t you've already put up with. Shining up the black paint to prove condition and taking high quality photos is well worth the effort.

The $11k you spent in the last 6 yrs isn't even worth mentioning, just has no bearing on the price. The buyer will show up, look at paint, plastic trim, look at interior and engine bay, potentially drive, listen to the drivetrain, listen for suspension noises, and feel the steering. New tires will give peace of mind but neither they nor anything else will be heroes with respect to price.

I disagree. I very specifically look for maintenance costs at time of purchase. Especially when a premium price is being asked. Definitely mention it as long as you have paperwork to support it.

Keep at it. You'll find a buyer willing to pay your price. Though it does help to have the truck looking its best too. Good luck with it.

Carmax will buy anything but historically their max age for vehicles on their retail lot is 10 years. Given that, they will wholesale the car so they wont give much for it since their ability to generate their minimum profit is greatly reduced.

As mentioned in ad, it's fully detailed, serviced and it has complete records from new.
Yes, I'm asking premium but potential buyer is getting a lot for the money.
