Rear seat trim removal to replace center shoulder belt assy. How to?
Hi guys, I bought a complete black Nappa comfort seat set from a 4.8is which is in great shape except that the person who removed it from the donor vehicle cut the rear center shoulder belt...........I can't find any instructions on how to remove the rear seat trim (the carpeted cover that becomes part of the cargo floor when the seat is folded down) which I assume has to come off to replace the rear center shoulder belt retractor. Does anyone know how to remove the rear seat trim? I can't tell from the realOEM diagram how that trim is attached to the seat. Hoping it's not crimped on such that I have to find a whole seat back just because of the cut belt.
Thanks Steve |

Here is the issue I need to solve - cut center seat belt for the rear seat back from the black Nappa donor interior.
![]() As best I can tell, this load floor/seat back panel is going to have to come off to get to the retractor. Has anyone ever opened one of these seats up before?

Never mind, I figured out how to get the back panel off. It's hot glued on plus the rubber edge of the leather seat skin also holds it on. I found that the retractor is not accessible from the back, the leather skin has to come off. What a pain. I am not the idiot who cut the belt.
Here is how I accessed the seat belt retractor. I unclipped the seat skin from tabs on the frame around the armrest opening and was able to see there is a steel cover bolted on over the seatbelt retractor. Once that came off the retractor was visible. I will have to source a donor seat back to steal the retractor from. ![]() ![]() ![]()
