Youtuber Who Doesn't Bag on the E53

Looks like JR just got a cheap 3.0i and is going to do some videos about it. Has plenty of positive things to say about the e53, at least the ones with the M54 in it. Looking forward to his fixes and takes on it.

Happy to see at least 1 who realizes that a 3.0 has value. Unfortunately in the process of trying to get one cheap youtubers like hoovies garage buy a poorly maintained 4.4 and... well of course it’s going to be bad. Spreads the wrong message about the e53.

Hoovies goes for the shock’n awe. He is funny in a way but cares little about his cars, they are a means to an end. Entertaining enough, but don’t mistake him for an enthusiast in the way most Xoutposters care for their cars.
I am still trying to figure out where JR is going with his channel. He is pretty handy with a wrench and knowledgeable about multiple topics. Is he trying to emulate the car ninja?

I've been enjoying the journey that some of my favorite youtubers have been on the last few years

The whole "cheapest whatever..." is getting tired and is about as original as autotune singing

Hoovie is still one of my favorite guys and I like his save a hooptie mission vs cheapest whatever that he's migrating away from. If the vehicle still happens to be cheapest in the US sure why not, but it's not the central theme. I do appreciate he's into cars that he thinks are cool vs moving on to mostly exotics like others have.

I like the Wizard and all but he's about as interesting as a bowl of cold oatmeal so I don't really care to see him regularly.

I've always liked JR and the let's get this done attitude he brought to the table but most of all he does the wrenching, like all of the time! I'm very interested what he's got planned for his X5 and "The largest shop on all of YouTube".

What other Youtubers are you guys watching? I'm not really into the Hoonigan 90s XTREME style camera work

I enjoy Hoovie, but he's at the bottom of my list. The "incompetence" act is getting old. My wife can't stand him.

I also watch Doug Demuro, M539 Restorations (probably one of my favorite as I LOVE wrenching and attention to detail), Alex on Autos (mostly new car reviews), Carfection (think Top Gear before all the silliness), ChrisFix, Nathans BMW workshop, Tavarish, VinWiki (really interesting car stories), and Rich Rebuilds. They all bring something different to the table so I tend to watch them sporadically when the mood strikes me.

My wife hates him too. The grown child dummy act doesn't bother me nearly as much as his recently adopted dance thing he does.

I like Rich and Samcracc and how they're always bagging on each other. Just like my friends would NEVER miss an opportunity to kick you when you're down

Legitstreetcars is a great chan.

Vinwiki has amazing stories and Ed has a great radio voice.

Nathan's workshop sure knows how to make almost anything dull and his editing and audio needs some serious work compared to those other guys but I do enjoy his content for obvious reasons.

I haven't really watched M539 restorations really but I have heard of them. I'll give it a watch and see what it's all about.

I've been watching quite a bit of "whistling diesel" lately and I like his vibe. "I'm not going to ask you to subscribe or hit the like, you'll do that anyway if you like this" Easy to say when you have millions of views within days but I dig it. Boys having fun out in the country

Legit streetcars has been worth watching but not all of them have the same hands-on content.

M539 is truly excellent in content and has a kind of dry wit. He said he wants to go full time. Is that becoming a trend? IT Guys going fulltime car you-tubers?

There is something about Doug Demuro that I just can’t connect with. Nathan has been putting out a bunch of click bait videos that put me right off his channel. Tavarish occasionally has some interesting stuff. LNC is often worth watching.

SLR rebuilds has my attention as well, gives a British prerspective on rebuilds. Real backyard stuff there.

Tyler is a clown but often does have good background on the cars he buys. He should go for the odd ball stuff (axiom, X90, etc.). The car trek episodes just seems boring wannabe top-gear stuff to me.

Hoovies has gotten pretty repetitive lately. When I get my X5 soon I’m going to do some videos about it.

I’m going to get a 4.4 but the m62 so it should be pretty reliable.

Glad to hear several of you guys like M539 Restorations.
He's close friend of mine and he's exactly how he presents himself, a true BMW enthusiast 1st, youtuber 2nd.
Also, I can't overstate how much I like my newly purchased 3.0. It's everything I expected and then some.
Of course, me and she cemented our love (my wife understands and she's not jelauos) during our short honeymoon:

Edd China fans?

I really wish Edd China could put together a new show; really loved the deep dives into component repair rather than throwing dollars (or sponsorship dollars) a crate kits.

cheers
K
