Rivet Removal for Aluminum RB Install

Reading the pdf for the RB install, I see a 2m centerpunch and hammer (ah, the universal tool...) listed as one of the tools needed--is that how the old rivets are removed? Punched out through the center? Sounds like a rough way to do it. Can a 2mm drill be substituted?

I found the center punch much easier to use than the drill. Especially around the tires where you can't angle in a drill. I didn't need the hammer, I just pushed the center punch with my hands.

I used a drill for the rivets underneath the car and punch for the rest. The ones underneath are harder to punch out.
