Ways to disable Servotronic
Hi,
My x5 is equipped with Servotronic and wondering what would be the quickest or easiest way to disable it? Not via coding. Something like unplug wiring? Just want to feel the difference in steering with or without servotronic. Thanks. |

Probably the easiest way to unplug ABS module connector. (Without speed signal servotronic will drop off.) Servotronic in fail mode will be heavier than non Servotronic rack.

Thanks. I'll try that.
Good to know that servotronic in fail mode is heavier than non servotronic. |

I have a 4.4i (non-servo) and a 4.6is with a non working servo. For sure, the 4.6is steering is much much heavier, probably on the same level of effort at parking lot speeds as my manual steering sports cars. At highway speeds, it's fine.
