Was your original sound system DSP equipped?

What unit did you go with? All I can suggest is check your wiring connections and look through the menus of the new unit to see how it is setup.

I've just seen somewhere that I need to connect blue remote cable to power antenna or something along those lines

Well that didn't work as that's to power an amp that doesn't exist

I though even the non DSP radio had an amp. Have you checked in the left rear cubbie where all the electronic for the entertainment are located for an amp? It will be way at the bottom of the cubbie.

Most of them do. But over seas I believe they had an option for base audio with no amplifier. Without sound though it does sound like typical failure of the factory amp, check the cubbie as UAN suggests.

If you had to run that 6M cable to the boot, I would suggest double checking where you have it plugged in. I did the same thing on my install and found that I had the cable plugged into the wrong port. Take a look here: https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...-thread-9.html

Specifically on post #84. The picture with the battery in it. This is where you will have to unplug the factory harness and plug your new 6M cable into. There is one end for source and one end for power. I had them mixed up and had power but no sound. Sorry I don't have a better picture.

Good luck and take a look through that thread if you have other issues. Many contributors to that thread.

Good luck!
