[SOLVED] X5 E53 2006 Injector Issues
I have a strange issue with my x5 e53 2006 3.0d. Recently i have done few repairs on my e53. 1. replaced all glow plugs + the module (brand new) 2. replaced Turbo Boost Pressure Solenoid Converter EGR Valve (brand ne) 3. replaced 3 other injectors becouse they were showing high values on BMW ISTA D (3.5 or even 4.0 (maximum allowed) 4. partially fixed the turbocharger and reprogrammed turbo module edit: 5. disabled DPF via ECU After all this fixes the car was ok for a while when suddenly i was feeling again a little bit of power loss and i thought it was the turbocharger again. After visiting the shop they scanned the codes and they noticed 004B11 DDE: Regolatore silenziiosita 004B10 DDE: Regolatore silenziiosita Here are the screenshots: 1. https://i.imgur.com/Qn57NdR.png 2. https://i.imgur.com/QFHHXUY.jpeg Any help or suggestions what do i check next? PS: car runs fine no idle issues Last edited by raydhimitri; 03-25-2021 at 04:12 PM. |

Does your model have a vacuum accumulator or similar? Several cases on xoutpost when diesel gets winded especially say going up a long hill and power fades, it was a leak in the tank that I think somehow controls the turbo boost. I don't work on diesel I don't remember the details but you can maybe find the thread on xo it was probably in the e53 section

Hello @andrewwynn,
No this version of e53 does not have the vacum accumulator becouse the turbocharger is electrically controlled.. |

If you disabled the EGR in the DDE (ECU) I don't get why you would replace the vavle controlling it. The M57TU normally uses a Turbo Boost Pressure Solenoid Converter that is an electrically controlled pneumatic device - so it needs a source of vacuum. I didn't think the electrically controlled Garrett GT2260V turbo was ever fitted to an M57TU (in an E53) - only the M57TU2 in the E70 (from 2007) but I guess it's possible a late 2006 might have had it. Would mean you would have a DDE 6.0 rather that the DDE 5.0 as fitted to most LCI E53 though. Assuming you are mistaken and your turbo boost IS vacuum controlled, Andrew is dead on - check the vacuum accumulator - #1 below - and all the lines running to it.

E53 3.0d facelift with M57N engine has two versions. EU3 without DPF has vacuum actuated turbo, EU4 with DPF has electric servo actuated turbo. (Otherwise the same GT2260V.) (Same thing was on early E6x 530d.)
That trouble code for smooth running controller means that correctional value on some injector has been over the accepted tolerance. Though those present values are still within specs. This code has no direct correlation to any possible power problems.

The 4B10/11 codes seem to point to the EGR (in some documents) but smooth running in others...

Hello @all ,
im sorry for the confusion and my bad english. 1. I have replaced this part: EGR boost control (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-BMW-X...-/352237914090) 2. I only turned off the DPF from the car and not the EGR !!! The EGR was cleaned just to make sure there was no dirt in it. 3. YES, my e53 has electric controlled turbo that is not vacum controller like earlier models. --------- Soooooo finally i took the car again to the turbocharger repair shop and they have replaced the actuator module. it was a known issue for them when i explained again the problem that i had with the the car that it would work fine when starting or when it was cold .... but after a while you would feel low boost etc or poor acceleration after 2nd gear.. Part Link : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Elect...cAAOSwyfNetSMr AND FINALLY my issue is solved for now with no Smooth Running errors , if they appear again well ... it will be time to check other things . (i hope not ) Last edited by raydhimitri; 03-24-2021 at 06:06 PM. |
