Alternator bracket gasket – Viton or OEM?

Hello guys,


I’m assembling a rockauto order and they have two options for the gasket; Mahle or ÜRO. Anyone use/have experience with the ÜRO viton gasket? Or should I just stick with an OE brand since the original lasted 15 years?

Personally I found URO is very hit and miss with their "quality control" but I don't think there is any revolutionary compounds out there as far as gaskets go so depending on the price difference from Mahle I would try it.

If it's the job you don't want to do twice, then stick with OE.
If you don't mind doing it again, then just get whatever make sense to you.

I'm going to stick with Mahle. Funny enough I'm not looking to do this job again if the URO gasket fails.
