Yes I was fairly cautious with my attachment of the joint.

When it wouldn't go on with 3-5 hits of the BFH I pulled it off only to find c clip damaged.

4 rounds of off, fix c clip back on finally out went on with three gentle taps (with 5# copper hammer)

I used a special tool adapter to remove the axle easily with less than five hits in the slide hammer, but I had to widen the fork used with a die grinder to fit the axle shaft.

Except my axle nut fused and stripped two threads inside the nut so even though i could spin the nut with 150psi on the 3/4 drive impact gun i had to remove the nut with oxygen acetalene and then air hammer the axle out after the nut was split in half and replace the axle.

At that point, it's time to replace the entire axle and not just the CV joint.

AWR-Fix: Outer CV Joint tips

Fortunately mine jammed in the way on and I cought it so it was recoverable.

Several accounts of the c clip jamming have been on xo for the differential side and it's a hellscape
