I just did my right outside joint. I had two hiccups:

1) c clip locked into place took way too much force to remove but I left the axle nut loosened but on so I could pry against the hub

2) new c clip jammed. It took four attempts with 3 different c clips before I got it on. Don't force it. It should go on with 3-4 reasonable taps with BFH. If it fights pull it off and check the c clip. They might go on better with the open side up or down for a gravity assist. I missed the memo of that's the case.

Tips; I used a u-bolt clamp on the axle for something to lever against and to hammer the new joint back on used a large vice grip so I could hold the axle against the subframe so I wasn't pushing against the inner joint.
