I think that will work - since you are only adding a mechanical lock - you will only unlock that door, not the whole car.

The key goes into the electronic lock mechanism or DLA. You would have to add a second "driver's side" lock actuator and I'm not sure the window switch box even has a compatible plug.

If it's not compatible, you would add a mechanical lock but the electric lock may not work. It won't be an improvement.
