Yeah, I ended up being a no show as well. I was bummed out too. The heat wave at the time, and the insta-downpours were a factor in my decision. That was a rough weather week!

But..! Another forum member assisted me with insight on how to purchase the Doctor Lavr headers. If this comes to fruition, one can only imagine the smell and sound that E53 is going to produce.

So… Stay tuned… Literally and figuratively! LoL… I imagine the sound will be unbelievable! This setup will put the E53’s exhaust note on beast mode for sure.

Now that will be a sight to see. Hang in there Crystal, when we get a chance to fist bump, you may get a chance to witness the completed project.

How did we get here again!?!? CRAZYNESS!

Good decision! If possible, a before and after video of the change would be great to hear. Revs, acceleration from zero and full throttle drive by.

Happy: Holy $&!t, is that yours?! That sounds incredible. By headache I meant I assume you have to make a ton of other mods to support the extra power from a super/turbocharger bolt on. Can I ask what company’s supercharger you went with and how many miles on your X5 when you installed it? Is it a daily driver or track use only? (That was actually three questions - sorry!)

Thank you! The M54 is very reliable at 10lbs boost. There isn’t a need for engine mods. The injectors will need to be changed, but a good kit should provide them. Also a intercooler will be necessary at 10lbs, however 7lbs will not require one.

I highly recommend repairing everything underneath the hood that is failing, or may be failing before adding forced induction. OFHG, DISA, MAF, VACUUM LINES, COIL PACKS, ETC. Make sure EVERYTHING, is functioning properly before installation. It definitely makes things, “headache free” if I am understanding you correctly. Good maintenance is a must.

My kit is made by RMS. Unfortunately though, the kits are discontinued now. But, I believe there are a few other kits still on the market. These kind of parts are getting harder to find these days.

It was installed at 75,000 miles. It now has 98,000 miles, and has been fitted for about 11 or 12 years. This is my daily driver. It’s definitely a pretty cool grocery getter. I am retired, so it’s only duties are, grocery gettin’, cruisin’, and family trippin’.

No worries on the questions, this is what xoutpost is all about!
