Seatbelt Alarm won't turn off!

I'm out of ideas, and yes, I've check all over here and elsewhere for solutions. All of which I have pretty much ruled out. The Seatbelt alarm will not shut off in my Wife's 2006 X5. It doesn't care if I have the seatbelt buckled or not. I could live with just having the seatbelt buckled all the time, but that doesn't do anything. I tested the seat occupancy sensor with my scanner. It shows appropriate status whether the seat is empty (no occupancy) or if I'm sitting in it (assigned). If I disconnect the plug under the seat, the alarm goes off, but I don't want the airbags disabled. If I unplug just the seatbelt catch hall sensor it kicks the airbag warning light, so that's not an option either... not that it made a difference. I'm not above taking the dinger out of the dash, but I'd rather fix the issue (if I can find it).

Thanks in advance.
