2002 4.6is replacement window regulator wired backwards. Di-pin connector or??

Replaced the window regulator in my 202 e53 with a VDO unit. Regulator works great, runs smoothly but the motor is (for some reason) wired backwards (so that down is up on the button, etc.)

This is one of the styles where the connector is directly on the motor (not an adapter harness like other aftermarket ones) so the only option I can see is to de-pin the factory connector at the motor and swap the wires.

Posting in case someone has another idea? Also - any tips on how to de-pin that connector?
