I hate to be the bearer of bad news but my guess is the OPG leaking with those kind of miles. All the M54B30 engines do it, mine was pouring at under 200,000 miles.

I clearly didn't look close enough and that makes perfect sense why #7 ghosted for me.

Wow # 7 is huge #1 is already quite big.

It's hitting 150000 now. The oil pan gasket is on my list. The drips are from not moving for two weeks. The foam oil sipping out makes sense. New rear and shafts are going on as soon as I can access a lift. Hopefully in January. Is the diff in the way to replace the oil pan gasket?

Yep - it's a big 'un... and the part is actually the plastic shield AND the foam/alloy insulation

Awesome callback.

My water comes down the cable so wouldn't help. I do need to really figure that out though

If it is possible to put a loop in the wire above the connecter it will act as a drip. We use them in construction all the time. Keeps water from running down an electrical wire and into a box. Water runs down the loop and drip off.

Comes down the middle of the wire bundle though the sheath. Acting like a hose. Have not figured out how the hell the water gets in up near the firewall somehow.

Question: while the plate is off for diff oil change, oil pan gasket, and front shafts, what else is accessible? Would coolant plastic hoses be easy to replace? The CCV is under the intake. Would it be easier to swap out?

Easier access to pull CV half shafts if it's time for boot refresh.

Check the lines to/from the power steering?
