WIndows and sunroof roll down randomly ?

So yesterday when i came to my car i saw all my windows and sunroof rolldown, it also happenned last year. I read here and there that theres a possibility it coud be a electric problem or actuator issue, does it make sense ? or its more likely that i accidently push the button ?

I think it's more likely the button on the keyfob.

I agree and not saying it's happened to me, but I now carry my key so that it hangs outside of my pocket....

Yup, happened to me in rain! The center FOB button is easy to push when putting it into your pocket! Works great to remove summer heat though!

I've been carrying key fobs outside of my pocket since '09

It has happened to me, several times:
  • 1) once with the X5...at home, no rain,
  • 2) thrice with my HHR Panel
    • a) at work in underground parking area, rear left door open, items stolen from inside,
    • b) at shopping center, right rear door open, slightly wet inside from rain,
    • c) at home, overnight, both rear doors ajar, no rain, but signs of a cat having visited

On my '09 Chevy HHR Panel, the rear side doors have fob-activated door-poopers that open the doors without getting inside first. When the poopers were new-ish, they would open the doors quite well, at least 18", if the HHR was on level ground (nowadays, the doors just barely unlatch, and require manual assistance for opening). My wife drives the HHR now, and can safely throw the fob in her crowded purse, without door activation.

I only have one fully-functional "diamond key" for my X5 (and two generic keys with only the remote fob functioning, not the key itself). After I replaced the battery in the good key, I bought a silicone cover for it, hoping that it would cover my rough-surfaced fob (cut-marks and excess superglue on it), and also keep me from accidently pushing the fob buttons (by adding a thicker surrounding surface).

That didn't work too well, as I put the key in my pocket as I was going into my Dr's office, I heard my doors unlock, and turned and saw the windows roll down (from 20 feet away). Fortunate, as I was on the spot, and could correct the situation immediately. After that, I hook my key/fob onto my phone case on my belt.

I'm pretty sure that function can be coded out.

I believe so, but having it is the way for instant entry when your dhc shits the bed.

What if only one window goes down (passenger rear) on it's own? Nothing close to the buttons......

I had this happen due to a failed rear window switch. It was causing the window to go up/down ~3" on its own. IIRC, the switches are the same left to right. You just have to pop them out of the small trim panel. That would be an easy way to test

I have had this EXACT same issue happen in the past. My only remedy was to have the window-child lock on to prevent it from happening.

Not sure as to what or why it did it. Then it randomly fixed itself. Maybe GM module??
