AFE Intake Received

well, i finally received the AFE intake that
i ordered during the group buy. one question
though, should i wait until after i take the X5
in for minor annoyances before installing or
should i install ASAP, then take it in for service.
i'm leaning towards service first.

You can't possibly lose anything by waiting a little bit. Just wait and put it in.

I received mine last week. Did you notice how much they charge you? I was charged $249 (supposed to be $200 shipped as Ricky quoted). I tried to contact Brad at EVOSport but haven't been able to get a hold of him yet.
After I installed the CAI, I love it. It was just that the Service Engine Soon light went on shortly after the installation but no noticeable symptom detected yet. I went to a BMW shop. They ran a diagnostic tests. Everything was within specification and they cleared the light. They think that the engine is adapting to the change so they say that just drive it for a week and see what will happen. The light just went on again this morning and so I hope that nothing majorly will happen because my car is no longer under warranty.

Justin.

Justin.

Probably just reading a bunch of unmetered air through the MAF. Should go away after the computer compensates.

u know, i just realized something. the prices we
were given included shipping. at least that's what
it said in the GB thread that we had going. what's
up w/ that?

here was the price breakdown -

"X5 3.0i - 200$
X5 4.4i - 275$
X5 4.6is - 275$
X5 4.8is - 275$
X3 2.5i - 335$
X3 3.0i - 345$
All prices are shipped, but we have to have 30 folks to get these prices!"

Hmmm, looks like a great reason not to get it for me. Good luck!

Same here. I am going to the dealer in 2 weeks for an oil change so I will wait until then.
