other than the clear corner lights is there anything magical about a European spec e53?

There's one for sale close to me and I haven't bought a BMW in almost a year now...getting the itch to go take a look at it

Correct. The only meaningful differences were diesel drivetrain options.

Having a Euro-spec E53 myself (since i'm European) i know that there are some differences. But what they are depends on which year/model/engine the X in question is.


If you have the model info at hand, i can check.
And the last 7 VIN digits would be even better, if possible.

I don't have the VIN number

The only info I have is it's a 3.0, white on black interior with sport seats

I'm not a computer guy at all but my Gulf version I suspect has different mapping for the thermostat and engine, so I'd bet fuel maps are different depending upon areas that use/have benzene or other octane formulations and higher speed limits.

Euros had rear fog lights. You need the switch to upgrade.

Some also had eodb emissions (eu2 engine calibration) with no cats.
