Can you short the pins to the cable to "press" the central lock button?

I have not tried to short the pins. The switch didn't work when I had it out and tested so just putting in a new switch as soon as it arrives to close this issue. I agree when I had it out I could have rigged up some pins in the connector to bypass and test but didn't. Not very thorough troubleshooting, I know.

Why I asked is stuck pressed is the normal troublemaker stuck open usually won't cause errors with key but in your case you can't sync because you can't press the central lock. The confusing part is you said trunk release works.

I replaced the central lock switch. No change, central locking and key fob still doesn't work, except rear hatch still works. Checked error codes on the body and again and same codes. The error 51 on the windscreen washer pump short circuit is a clue there may be a short somewhere but the pumps front and rear are working so why that error is a mystery, and the first code "not found" I have no information how to interpret. So, I know what doesn't work.
