Changed fuel pressure sensor on the rail for genuine Bosch

Changed fuel filter

Cleaned the in tank pump filter mesh

Couple of quick questions for you... is the car an LCI (facelift) model - the facelift change was in Sept 2003?

What was the error code(s) on the scan.

It sounds like a fuel delivery issue but that just a guess at this point...

As you likely already know...

1190 - DDE: Rail-pressure plausibility

Checked the in-tank fuel pump is working properly? To check this is tricky but you need about 2.0-3.5bar of pressure at the fuel filter inlet.

Pre-facelift M57 has supply pressure sensor on top of the fuel filter. Check the supply pressure first with diagnostics, should be near 4 bar. If it drops on load below 3 bar it will also cause low rail pressure (usually caused by inline fuel pump).

Is the engine starting normally (so not indicating a leaky injector)?
