I have a (new-to-me) 4.6is with the muffler in the middle removed and replaced with two straight pipes. Still have the OEM catalysators and rear muffler. Sounds great!

If you guys want I can upload a video to YouTube in a bit where you can hear it rev and idle, I probably have some clips laying about.

Yes most definitely upload a video of cold start, idle and some blips revving.

Here you go guys! Cold start, revs to ~2500 and then a few seconds of idle.

There is no annoying droning noise on the highway if I turn on the cruisecontrol at about 120km/h. Of course if you are accelerating, you do hear it better. Especially in the backseat.

Let me know what you think :-)

Much appreciated! For me that sounds great. Also, a nice looking X5. Couple of questions:

-Is the diameter of the new sections same as rest of the system?
-This might be difficult or maybe even impossible to answer without a dyno test or if you already had the car set up that way when you got it, but do you notice any lack of power?
-How is the noise at highway speeds at steady low rpms, when going like 120 km/h? Is it like a stock one where it’s mostly just tire and wind noise or is it more noticeable?

Now, how about a clip showcasing the sound under full-on acceleration

Edit: Just listened the clip with a better speaker able to handle lower frequencies, now I really wan’t do mine.

I think it sounds great! That is on my list of light mods for the X.

Beautiful X!
