Well, found out tires need a little more tire pressure. The X5 was parked at a friend's house after we left town from his location. It was there for 10 days. As I'm leaving the paved long driveway and hit the street, I feel bouncing. All four corners are uneven. Tires have flat spots. It has been close to freezing at night. About halfway home, the tires warmed up and flat spots were gone. It will be raining the next four days here. I'll drive it all week. xDrive is better for slick roads over a HEMI truck with no rear weight.

I just go with tire pressure recommendations on the side of the tires which is usually 32-35, 35 being max pressure with max payload. We don't use the X5 for long trips. I inflate the tires on the X5M with luggage etc. in the back, which, I'm guessing, weighs about 500 pounds, to 35 psi. But, that is trying to increase mileage not due to payload. I've tried higher pressure but the ride is compromised too much for a long trip.
