Tick tick tick tick - WT.......
Cold morning start today. I was about to head out for a 55 mile run to N San Antonio. Of course after topping it off and seeing white goo. City drives have been too short this winter. It's why I wanted a nice interstate drive. The wify comes over and says Scooter is ticking. I can hear it after rolling down the window. It's not the DISA valve. It's been repaired and it didn't vibrate. Seems close to the valve cover. Do vanos tick when cold? What else ticks? The expected cam degree and actual degrees are dead on. I'll pull out my mechanic stethoscope and track it down. It warmer now though.

Vanos doesn’t tick when cold - well mine doesn’t. But it does when hot. Could be a lifter..

Ticking was not present after starting it up this afternoon. I checked a few areas around the engine with a mechanic stethoscope. I'll check again on a cold start up day.
