Oil around rear diff input seal
They noted that there was a dampness of oil around the rear diff input seal. Is this a job I should get done asap? I have noticed a deep rubbing noise occasionally when on the throttle, so I'm wondering if the diff oil is low and causing it. Am I right in thinking there are 3 seals on the rear diff, and that it's best practice to get all 3 replaced at the same time? I don't know how long the job takes, but I read the seals are pretty cheap? If anyone has done this job themselves I'd be keen to hear how long it took, or alternatively if a garage did it, how many hours they charged for and the overall cost. |

The input seal of any diff is always a challenge simply bc it requires expertise for proper installation.
Check rear diff fluid level. Best is to drain it and fill it. I use Redline fluid.
