Replacement instrument cluster
Is there anything I need to do to have the correct mileage and no tamper dot? Is it a straight swap? Can’t be that easy surely.. |

Replacement instrument cluster
My understanding is that if the replacement has lower miles on the odometer the stored miles in the car (I forget which module stores the clone) it will sync the higher miles to the new dash.
Definitely find the confirmation on that before plugging in. The car will become the higher of the two modules from my understanding. Do you know the odometer of the replacement dash? The host car must be similar to work properly but you'll get a tamper dot unless the vin is coded in. https://www.precisionecu.com/product...ning-unlocking See link above.

Ok so I installed the 4.6 cluster to my 4.4. It all works apart from the oil pressure gauge.
There is the tamper dot on which was expected but the traction light is also on as is the brake warning light. How can I get rid of these? I’m in the uk so if anyone can assist or point me in the direction of someone who can that would be great. Just thought while typing- would turning the steering full lock both ways to calibrate the angle sensor reset the lights? I’ve put the original back in at the moment so can’t try it until tomorrow. |

Trifecta lights will set from SAS and yes often lock to lock will reset that error and clear trifecta after a short distance driving. Read and clear codes to confirm boo other codes setting trifecta

Err.. what is SAS and boo? I have no lights on with the original cluster back in and I haven’t had my reader on it yet.

Put the 4.6 cluster in and drove but the lights stayed on. I checked it with my scanner and there were a load of faults but one in particular said something along the lines of it not being recognised.
Look like I need it coded to my car. To be honest tho I actually think I prefer the look of the original.. |

Yes its a big job, not for the faint of hearts.
Panel needs to be taken apart, needles removed, a chip soldered out, programmed with a special programmer, soldered back in, cluster put back together, then coded to the car with ncs expert. This is just a brief description, the job is pretty involved. |

Then you also need to reflash dme firmware to make the oil temperature work.
