Speakers stopped working

I have a 2001 BMW E53 X5 and when I bought it the pixels on stock radio wasn't working. Weighing my options I decided to buy an Android head unit and was really happy with the unit then last month I drove to a store and when I got back in, I turned the radio back on and there was nothing coming out any of the speakers, in addition the blue tooth didn't work either. This model X5 didn't have the amp in the back by the batteries and the fuses are good too. I figured it was the head unit so I bought another, plugged it in and still no sound.

I have looked in the forums for similar problems but found nothing that helped. Any thoughts on what it may be? Appreciate any input.

Possibly.....

Bluetooth button stuck (but it's not really) that's just how it shows up when scanned on the Foxwell nt-510.

Do you have a scanner?

There is a scanner with the head unit but gives only basic codes. Did buy one but it won't be arriving till tomorrow.

Does it have the Alpine amp in the rear drivers-side well near the tail-lights? - behind the carpeted panel? You said you looked near the battery... My amp failed ..There was corrosion near the connector and probably a burnt circuit board. Same symptoms. My car is an '05 but had basic stereo..no DSP, No NAV..

The amp I am referring to is a unit by Alpine (in China) Part #65128379376.
You can see several on Ebay to see what I am talking about.

Ketoe - we haven't seen you 'round these parts in some 2 years. You have gone through a couple of engine replacements and a strange transmission grinding noise on the last one...

Aside from this sound issue, do you have your X5 sorted?

Yes, that was me. Finally got a rebuilt motor (#3) installed along with another tranny and it runs great now. Got a couple things to sort out but overall it's doing good. I do have that amp, and will pull it tomorrow and give it a look over.

The amp today, installed it and all is fine. Got a Foxwell NT630 and still playing around with it. I am still amazed at my troubleshooting skills, especially after others point out the obvious to me! Thanks again guys for all your help, I'll need it, I have other issues to work on.
