Where is the air intake sensor connector?

Hi all,

when the serpentine belt snapped on my E53 3.0d, it also snapped off the air temperature sensor that sticks out of the intake manifold pipe that run down to the intercooler
The temp sensor is no 10 in the diagram.

I have tried looking for the wiring loom/connector that connects to the sensor but can't find it. Just wondering where I should be looking for it considering its a tight spot.

Thanks

It’s underneath your manifold. Just remove it (10/11mm socket) and then you’re able to check if it’s still intact. It’s one of the longer leads 2 wire that comes out of that little rats nest box. If I take mine off today I’ll send you a pic

She splits off with the oil temp sensor on the bottom of the oil filter housing and the charge control wire from the alternator!

Hope you still got 3 sets of wires there. Fingers crossed!

You are a star sir!

Thanks very much!. I'll check around the area tonight. I Hope its still there and not been ripped off.

The connector your are holding. Is that cable behind coming from the temp sensor or to the wiring loom?.

No worries ! It was actually zero trouble since it was all still open haha XD

The wire I’m holding is the temperature sensor wire.
It goes to a 3 way split in the loom and then to the central distribution box under the glow plug module.

I tried fingering around( manifold still on) but no luck. Looks like a job for the weekend when I can take the manifold and a bit more off to find the cable.

Thanks

Sounds like a plan! I totally forgot that I moved my power steering to the bottom so that’s probably very in the way for you….
But definitely if you take the manifold off you should be able to work on anything there. Might also be a good time to rinse it out. And check the condition of the egr… if you still have one haha XD

If you need anything else just leme know. I don’t know everything but I’ve got one semi taken apart stil XD
