are the switches Hall effect or magnetic or micro-switches ? I know my passenger side is a bit sticky and has been since I bought the car but it hasn't caused any serious issues.

I’m not really sure. I didn’t take it apart to the degree where I could tell. I didn’t want to break into the 2nd layer where the motors are if I didn’t have to because the motors were fine. Even then I’m not sure I would be able to tell
I found the lift gate issue. It was a loose relay in the back if you can believe it. Pic enclosed I figured I’d test the motor by jumpering the output contact of one of the two relays involved in the back lift gate (one for upper and one for lower) but when I went to pull one out it was already loose. Time for a beer!!! Chay |
