new control arms now problems

Hi
i changed front control arms/drop links/ball joints.evrything under front.
The problem i have since is when i hit a bump the steering twitches left
and right.
I have been under the car 3 times checking everything has been done right
and all ok.

Its like driving with the drop links off.
I know my steering linkage is worn out but it was ok before i done the work.

Thank you

dave king

Did you maybe get some left/right parts mixed up ??

Right is on your right as you are sitting in the car.

left and right

Hi
thanks for your reply.

The parts appart from the drop links were stamped left and right.
I opened the right packages first so i could not mess up.

Thank you

new control arms now problems

Toe in alignment will hide some problems. I had basically the same symptom you describe and was the steering rack. I still have the replacement rack from 75,000 mile car. Never installed becusse deer killed the car. We can look up shipping cost If it'll be cheaper than sourcing locally.

You can confirm steering rack slop by having somebody steer left and right on the ground while holding the rack it should make an obvious clunk as it wobbles bweten the backlash.

What shape is the back end in? Formerly sloppy front end may have masked similar back end issues.
