it can if you shoot a water hose directly on the seal or going through a carwash or heavy rains

I asked this question a while back. The guys were all very helpful and I got to 95% with the forums help, then it was stuck. I went onto YT and searched every video on or about removing the headliner or sunroof cartridge and it was there I found my particular anti christ.

There are half a dozen screws, torx head from memory that attach the liner to the front of the sunroof, as soon as I released these, one from each side until only the middle remained, would it drop free from the top of the car.

This may be something to do with my car being an almost last build and it does have odd parts at times.

In the videos I have seen people struggle to remove this section and just continue to apply pressure until it pulls free, not knowing what it was that held it in place. Then when replacing, it does not press back as well as it should.

Just take the time to look and see if there is a set of torx screws and a bracket in the front of the sunroof cartridge...it will be close and tight.

I had this on our 2004 car about 6 months ago. I used jubilee clips to clamp the drain pipes to each outlet on the sunroof cassette (the pipe where the water runs out of the cassette and then into the rubber drain hoses….). Just have to be careful to orientate the jubilee clips correctly so they don’t foul on the sun roof when it slides back, so test run it before you out the headlining back. No problems since.

How did you re-secure the A-pillar fabric? Spray adhesive?

Yes, but I've used double sided tape.

Yes, a light coat of fabric spray works great. The material is very thin. So apply a very thin coat of spray. Apply spray from a good distance.
