Limit 33 MPH - warning comes up

About 134k on this car and no codes show up.

Once the 33 mph is reached alarm bell dings and dash lights up with "Limit 33 MPH". Warning turns off after a couple minutes. I haven't done anything to the X except keep it on a charger because the battery dies in about 2 weeks otherwise. Battery recently replaced 2 months ago.

Can't find anything searching so asking if anyone has come across this before...

Do you have nav? Sounds like the speed limit warning was turned on at whatever last setting was added.

I don't even remember where it's located, but probably just in the "settings" menu from the main screen. Just un-check the speed warning box.

Edit: might be in the OBD settings? I just can't remember and don't have my MK4 cars near me right now.

Had this car 16 yrs and never knew it had a speed setting in the navigation system.

Not sure how it got turned on, but it's off now. Thanks for the input!

Limit 33 MPH - warning comes up

When you bump into the setting it defaults to the current speed. I'm sure that's what happened. I set mine and wife's to 81 = 78 mph (70 is the highway limit where we live). Funny that occasionally I'll trip the alarm vs. Carving up some curvy country road where it's not advisable to look down at the speedo.

I will regularly set the cruise for a moderate yet speedy number as a guide say I get a rough idea what the current conditions allow and leave the orange tag up marking my suggested speed.

I'm just glad it was a setting and not something to fix. Now to try and get the radio working again....
