Xenon brown spot
Wire up. The beam doesn't invert. If there's dark spot it's not at the focus in/out.
If put in upside down there should be a notch index that isn't locked in and will pull the lamp out of focus

Replaced both (xenon) bulbs awhile back. One side is dimmer than the other, same as with the old bulbs. Igniter maybe?

I would swap sides to confirm if it's the bulb or something in the headlight assembly or ballast. Ignitor I think you mean ballast which controls the current going though the arc.
You could have a focus issue if a lamp is built wrong and has the arc not at the focus or you could have haze on the reflector or the lense.

Lens is new, but I'll try swapping the bulbs. I have a spare ballast/igniter so if the swap doesn't change anything I'll try that.
That side gets internal condensation after I replaced the lens. I resealed it with butyl mastic but apparently not well enough...

You may have sealed too well. They are usually vented to let moisture evaporate. If you sealed the vent whatever started in there is permanent. You can dehumidify by taking the whole assembly and with bulbs out for venting and put in an oven for half hour at 170-180. Might be warm enough to soften the butyl so caution if the lens isn't also screwed

Well I'll be... never thought about it being sealed too well!
Gonna go pull it and stick it in the oven.

Hi
mine happened after i put ebay bulbs in. Messaged them they want a photo. To the post above. Took the headlights out to buff and polish and noticed a drain/vent pipe in the lamp. Thank you. dave king |

One left-hand headlamp, very rare, coming right up... oven only goes down to 170F. Added fan to help w/air circ and keep it from getting too hot.
It's only been in there maybe 25 minutes but it's already dry inside. And yeah I spun it 180 so the fan could actually blow INTO the housing. I swapped the ballast while I had it out. I need a new tray though, the old one is missing about half the plastic. The vent tube in the inner corner is not blocked, though I did remove the crumbling foam inside.
