That's great! I use the same method to dry out a phone that's been dropped in water.

Lucky you with e53 headlights. The e70 is about a one hour procedure if none of the screws are corrosion welded!

It will make my month if the oven trick fixed the moisture. I would hit the seam from the outside with silicone as a backup for missing any spots with butyl.
