Alarm going off in the middle of the night

For the last 2 nights the alarm has been going off in the middle of the night. I ended up just turning it off and having the doors unlocked for the night. I noticed this morning when i was driving the interior lights would flicker on and off and the cluster would say a "door was open". I checked all the doors and they were secure. I scanned it with DIS and it wasnt coming with with any errors. Could it be that a sensor for one of the doors is malfunctioning? Any help would be appreciated.

Check hood sensor. Seems to be the usual suspect for this.

If you are getting irregular DOOR OPEN warnings....then one of the door monitors is probably having issues...and I would suspect it as the reason for the false alarms before the hood sensor. I would discount the hood sensor...but would investigatemoreinto the "door open" warnings which is a definite indicator that something is wrong if the doors are actually closed.

You can also check the DWA (anti-theft alarm siren system) red LED flash status. When you arm the vehicle (by using the remote key buttons, or locking the vehicle using the driver's door exterior lock) the DWA is armed and the red LED should indicate the system's status (see chart below). If the LED is flashing rapidlyy for 10 seconds...the there's an issue with one of the DWA monitors...and again, since you have a "door open" warning when all the doors are closed...one of the door monitors is probably the culprit.

You can lock the vehicle without arming DWA...but you have to kind of think outside the box. Using any of the door lock pins or the central locking system button on the center console...will single-lock the vehicle and NOT arm DWA. But you must work around the driver's door which has an anit-lockout feature which requires the driver's door to be closed in order for it to lock. Thus, you must close the driver's door first, then proceed to manually lock all the doors...or use the central locking button...but again, you must be using one of the other passenger doors to do either of the locking routines aforementioned since neiither of those 3 doors have the anti-lockout feature. You should still be able to use your remote key to unlock the vehicle.

^ I would love to see the chart you are talking about.

Do you have any more information on the door monitors? I wasnt able to find anything related to that on realoem.com

Thanks for the help so far

Recheck my post above for the red LED status chart. I'm workng on my tablet and Ive learned to save the text first, then come back and insert images. Sometimes when I open a new tab to access the URL of the image I want to insert...when I come back to insert the URL...all the text has been erased.

In fact, I had to rewrite this reply twice...the Bluetooth keyboard got hung up and all the text disappeared.

The door monitors are built into the door latches...perhps the info below will help explain how the DWA system works:

(the hood switch is located on the passenger side (LHD)in the engine bay)

Hmmm when I arm the vehicle is looks like it is a continual slow flash. The vehicle is armed right now in the parking lot at work, no issues with the alarm. It seems like the problem is intermittent right now, but for the last 2 nights around 2-3am i've woken up to the alarm going off. After a short while the alarm turned off by itself but the interior lights stayed on.

I think for now i will try to just unplug the siren to keep the neighbors from complaining until I investigate the issue some more.

edit: I dont know if it's related but my rear left window does not roll down. I had a fault stored something to do with a relay for the window going down. could that have something to do with it? i just hope that the interior lights turning on wont kill my battery..
