steering column bearing
Done a search for an how to relace lower steering column bearing but could not find anything. Any help would be great. Was wondering if it could be done from under the hood or do i have to remove the column. Thank you. Dave king |

Are you meaning the green plastic seal ring?? Either way I'm almost certain you can't do that working only from the engine compartment side.

That's something I've been looking at on mine as when I reach in and grab the steering column uj shaft it has movement in it. Not sure if it's the ujs or the column bearing tho. Reluctant to to buy a new uj shaft as there were two different types and Realoem doesn't show any part numbers for them. I suppose the only way is to get the old one off and find out..

there does seem to be a lot of moving parts in this assembly luckily dropping these lower bits off you can check a good portion of them , just be sure to check for play in the sliding parts in the lower column.
