No mate, even the BMW dealer is having trouble with this one. I tried a Melbourne specialist in E53's and he said my only chance is if he gets one with the right side of the bar that is destroyed, he will cut out the bracket and sell it to me, but it is my problem to separate it from the outer bar plastic.
It may be a 2006 thing, as I said I enter my serial number,(last seven VIN characters) and it gives me my vehicle precisely. The front bar definitely shows the double bracket fitting.

I did say it was a PITA when it comes to getting some things for it

Can't understand why your car would be such a huge deviation from other production runs - makes zero sense in terms of the BMW production line.

But what I would do it get the bracket I referenced above (from eBay or from a wrecker - any E53 facelift front bumper will have two) and fit it to your bumper, cutting the damaged section off the "weird" long bracket you have. Externally and functionally, it'll be a perfect match.
