ABS + DSC + Brake Light Trifecta RESOLVED
Lights came on sporadically at first, but then all the time. Codes always included pressure sensor errors, but all over the place and never the same code after each reset: 51 Pressure sensor, line 72 Pressure sensor, zero deviation 73 Pressure sensor, line 81 Pressure sensor line interruption 114 Pressure sensor (offset) 115 pressure sensor scatter Also got: 105 [69) Brake light switch plausibility [new switch made no difference] And: 80 Brakes were overheated [HA!] Never had a wheel speed sensor code. I sent the DSC module to Cheap ABS. Their tip of removing the headlight to get to the module worked great - I had to zip tie some hoses out of the way and get creative with extensions and adapters that were skinny and long enough but not too long to get to the torx screws. Car was stored outside in the meantime so I covered the ABS unit and plug with plastic wrap and aluminum foil to keep water out. All good since January (4 months). |

What was their cost and turnaround- 3 weeks seems standard
On eBay a co. AutoECU1 does a repair service for $229 with a 3 week turnaround.
Agreed on the removal tip- I had no idea where to look. 2001 4.4 Sport Package |

CheapABS was $180 + $20 return shipping (or give them a return shipping label) and turned mine around in 2 days.
