Alright... I got it done... Blower fan replaced and A/C is working great!

That job was a bit tedious but not difficult, it took me all day yesterday... You do require a 2nd person to remove and put back the dashboard though, else you'll learn some new vocabulary ;-)

I am going to open another thread because I have a few connectors on the driver and passenger sides, near the footwells, that I have no clue where they plug into and need some help figuring that out...

Oh, you bet! I wanted to make sure the wife knew what I'd done with my time all day!

Here are some photos... Note that I also took off the center console because I was also repairing the little door over the cup holders. That's probably not needed to remove the dashboard.

Enjoy!

Good idea AndrewWynn. Gonna go watch the youtube teardown videos again and see if I can spot the connectors.

Ouch. Once again, the myth of taking it out through the CD/nav unit is disproven.

I'm installing a Bluetooth CD/Aux microphone harness this weekend. My current Bluetooth doesn't have a microphone. I'll look carefully at the opening.

Thanks X5chemist. Hopefully you'll see that same black connector on the passenger side footwell :-)

And yes... There is NO WAY you can even touch the blower unit without taking off the dashboard.

To begin with, there is a plastic cover that goes immediately over the top of the blower unit (that cover is not pictured in any of my photos, but you can see the metal clips that hold it in place in the photo showing the installed unit... the clips are above and to each side of the blower unit).

Second, the frame and whatever all that plastic housing is which is behind the radio, blocks acess 100%... So, yeah, whoever said it could be done removing the NAV was smoking something or working on a different vehicle.
